Terms of Service

lorewend is a hosted AI-gamemaster role-playing service. You connect your own AI client (e.g. Claude or another MCP-capable assistant) to our servers; we host the rules engine and store your campaign saves, while the AI that narrates your game runs on your own AI subscription — we do not provide or charge for the AI itself.

You sign in with Google or Discord. You are responsible for your account and for the activity under it. You must be old enough to use the service in your country (at least 16 in the EU, or the age required for valid consent where you live).

The free plan includes the four classic races, every class (single-class), the full 5e SRD core, and up to three campaigns. Premium (€5.99 / month, plus tax where applicable) adds the five other races, engine-enforced multiclassing, and unlimited campaigns. Premium is billed by Stripe and renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account's billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and is not pro-rated. We may change the subscription price, but only with advance notice before it applies to a renewal, so you can cancel beforehand.

EU right of withdrawal. If you are an EU consumer you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Because premium is digital content supplied immediately, by subscribing and starting to use it you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose this 14-day withdrawal right once the service has begun. This does not affect your statutory rights or your right to cancel future renewals at any time.

If your subscription lapses or you cancel, your saves are preserved but premium features re-lock: a campaign that used a premium feature (multiclassing or a premium race) is locked until you resubscribe, and on the free plan only your three most-recently-played campaigns stay playable. You can export any campaign at any time to keep your own copy.

To reclaim storage, a free-plan campaign that is not accessed for about 30 days is archived, and one not accessed for about 90 days may be permanently deleted. Active subscribers' campaigns are exempt. Export your data if you want to keep a copy. See the Privacy Policy for more.

Don't abuse, overload, probe, or attempt to break the service or its security; don't resell or sublicense it; don't use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do. The stories you create are yours; you are responsible for the content your AI generates through your own subscription.

lorewend includes material from the System Reference Document 5.2 by Wizards of the Coast LLC, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence; lorewend is not affiliated with or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast and uses no Product Identity. The lorewend service and engine are ours and are licensed to you, not sold; these Terms grant no rights to our code or brand.

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. The narrative content is generated by your own AI client, not by us, and we do not control or guarantee it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including your statutory consumer rights).

We may update the service or these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use means you accept them. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end the service or an account for a serious or repeated breach.
