A world of ancient kingdoms, dark forests, and forgotten gods where heroes rise from ordinary origins to face world-ending threats. The central tension is survival against a cosmos that does not care: monsters hunger, dungeons collapse, and every ally has a price.
Sessions are driven by player choice and dice. You declare an action, the GM sets the stakes, and a d20 decides what happens. Combat is tactical and lethal in the early levels, epic and cinematic by the later ones. Lorewend improvises the world prose; the engine tracks every number with precision.

What drives it
Hit points, rests, and spell slots
Every fight costs resources: hit points drain, spell slots burn, and class abilities recharge only on a short or long rest. Drop to zero hit points and you start making death saving throws, three failures and the character is gone. The long road from level 1 to the high tiers demands that you husband your resources and choose your battles carefully.
